MEDIUM AND STYLE
Professional large-format landscape photograph, deep focus at f/16, golden-hour side light, ultra-detailed, natural colour grading. Choose a viewpoint where the foreground is rich (flowers, rocks, boats, market stalls) and the sky carries shaped clouds; no long exposure smoothing of water.
SCENE
In a Parisian patisserie display window, a baker arranges the last tray amidst an array of colourful treats. Tiered shelves hold macarons in vibrant hues, ornate fruit tarts, decadent eclairs, and a towering croquembouche. Chocolate sculptures add a touch of artisanal elegance. Handwritten price cards dangle from the shelves, adding authenticity to the scene. Outside, the quaint Parisian street is partly visible through the glass, hinting at morning hustle and setting a lively mood. Focal point: The baker arranging the last tray in the centre of the window display. Foreground: The window ledge with a tray of freshly placed patisserie items, including colourful macarons and delicate pastries. Midground: The tiered shelves filled with an assortment of pastries, chocolate sculptures, and handwritten price cards. Background: The glass window showing a glimpse of the Parisian street, with the outline of a distant bakery awning and hints of morning activity. Lighting: Warm golden-hour light streaming in from the side, illuminating the pastries and casting soft shadows that make every detail pop. Colour zones: macaron pink #d99482 for macarons; lemon yellow #f2c649 for fruit tarts; chocolate brown #875f41 for chocolate sculptures; cerulean blue #a0c1c8 for street reflection; caramel gold #fad8b1 for eclairs. Small hidden details spread across different areas: A small glass cloche; A chocolate mouse; A hidden price card; A miniature Eiffel Tower; A half-eaten macaron.
FORMAT
Portrait format 3:4 (2304×3072). Vertical composition: foreground, midground and background stacked from bottom to top, with interest reaching the top edge.
PUZZLE CALIBRATION
The picture will be cut into about 165 pieces (11 columns by 15 rows). A clear focal point surrounded by many secondary details; medium-sized colour regions, each with its own texture; a recognisable object or pattern fragment in every piece-sized area.
PUZZLE CRAFT (house rules)
Original artwork made to be printed and cut into a premium jigsaw puzzle. Edge-to-edge composition: the scene fills the whole canvas, corners and borders included, with real content in all four corners because players start with the edge pieces. Even distribution of interest: there is something to recognise in every area of the picture, with no large empty or uniform zone (no plain sky, flat water, blank wall or smooth gradient covering more than a small part of the image). Clear colour zoning: five to eight distinct colour families laid out in readable regions, so players can sort pieces into piles by colour. Inside each colour region, varied textures and small details (brick, foliage, fabric, ripples, patterns) so two pieces of the same colour still look different. Full tonal range with strong local contrast between neighbouring shapes; deep shadows keep detail and highlights never blow out. Everything in sharp focus from the foreground to the horizon: no depth-of-field blur, no bokeh, no motion blur, no haze or fog veils. Rich, saturated but print-safe colour, balanced warm and cool tones, even lighting that keeps every area legible. Layered depth: a detailed foreground, a lively midground and a structured background stacked through the frame. Small hidden stories and discoverable details spread across the canvas, rewarding a close look.
